What is V2L?
V2L stands for vehicle-to-load. The vehicle supplies mains-style power from its traction battery to run tools, lights or small appliances without a generator.
Does every Hiace have V2L?
No. The Toyota UAE page we reference lists 2.7 L and 3.5 L engines and does not mention a V2L system. If you want V2L, it comes from an electric version or conversion, and you must verify the output rating with the supplier.
What should a mobile workshop check?
Match the vehicle to the equipment you plan to run.
- Rated output in watts and the outlet type for your country
- How much range the vehicle loses while powering tools
- Whether the outlet works while parked
- Who is responsible for warranty on the power system
What if you only need a van body?
A conventional Hiace with a workshop fit-out and a separate power unit also works, and costs less to source. Ask us about available units and accessories.
